Verification Guide

Know What's Been Verified.

Verification helps you understand what information about a professional has been confirmed through JoberTrust.

See what each profile status and verification tier means — and what it does not mean.

Why Verification Matters

Verification gives you more context when evaluating a professional. It helps you understand what information has been verified so you can make a more informed decision.

Accountability

Verification connects important trust signals to identifiable accounts and professional profiles.

Clearer Information

Know which contact, identity, business or professional information has been verified.

Better Comparison

Use verification alongside reviews, Trust Score and other available information.

Greater Confidence

Verification can provide additional confidence, but it is only one part of evaluating a professional.

The Three Profile Statuses

Every professional profile on JoberTrust has a status that helps you understand whether the professional has taken control of the profile and whether verification has been completed.

Unclaimed

Profile Not Yet Claimed

A professional profile exists on JoberTrust, but the professional has not claimed it.

An unclaimed profile may contain information already available on the platform or information generated through customer activity.

Professionals can claim eligible profiles.

Claimed

Profile Claimed

The professional has claimed their profile and can manage their professional information on JoberTrust.

Claiming a profile does not automatically mean the professional is fully verified.

Verified

One or More Verification Levels Completed

Professionals can complete different levels of verification.

Not every verified professional has completed Tier 3. Always check the specific verification tier.

JoberTrust Verification Tiers

Verified professionals can complete different levels of verification. Each tier confirms specific information.

Tier 1

Contact Verification

Phone number and email address verified.

  • Phone number
  • Email address

This confirms that the contact details submitted by the professional have completed JoberTrust's verification process.

Tier 2

Identity Verification

Government-issued identification verified.

  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Government-issued identification

This adds identity verification using government-issued identification.

Tier 3

Professional Verification

Business registration and relevant professional certificates verified where applicable.

  • Contact verification
  • Identity verification
  • Business registration
  • Relevant professional certificates

Not every profession requires business registration or professional certificates. These are verified where applicable.

The tiers represent progressively broader verification.

  1. 1Tier 1Contact
  2. 2Tier 2Identity
  3. 3Tier 3Professional

Tiers do not upgrade automatically. Professionals complete the verification processes available and applicable to them.

What Verification Does Not Mean

Verification confirms specific information submitted through JoberTrust's verification process. It is not a guarantee of service quality, honesty, or future conduct.

Verification does not guarantee:

  • that a professional will perform well
  • that a service will meet expectations
  • that a transaction is completely safe
  • that every statement about the professional is true
  • that future conduct will remain satisfactory

Verification Is One Part of Trust

Verification is one of several signals available on JoberTrust. Consider the full profile before making a decision.

  1. Professional Profile
  2. Profile Status
  3. Verification
  4. Reviews
  5. JoberTrust Checked Reviews
  6. Trust Score
  7. Your Decision

Before you decide, consider:

  • Professional information
  • Profile status
  • Verification
  • Services and specializations
  • Reviews
  • JoberTrust Checked Reviews
  • Trust Score
  • Other available information

JoberTrust provides information to help you decide. JoberTrust does not decide who you should trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about verification on JoberTrust.

What does "Verified" mean on JoberTrust?

It means the professional has completed one or more verification levels. It does not mean every level has been completed, so check the specific tier shown on their profile.

What is the difference between an Unclaimed, Claimed and Verified profile?

An unclaimed profile exists on JoberTrust but the professional has not taken control of it. A claimed profile is managed by the professional. A verified profile is one where at least one verification level has been completed. Claiming and verifying are separate things.

What does Tier 1 verification verify?

Phone number and email address. It confirms that the contact details submitted by the professional have completed JoberTrust's verification process.

What does Tier 2 verification verify?

Phone number, email address and government-issued identification. It adds identity verification on top of contact verification.

What does Tier 3 verification verify?

Contact verification, identity verification, business registration and relevant professional certificates, where applicable. Not every profession requires business registration or certificates.

Does claiming a profile mean the professional is verified?

No. Claiming a profile means the professional can manage their information on JoberTrust. It does not automatically mean any verification level has been completed.

Does verification guarantee that a professional is trustworthy?

No. Verification confirms specific information submitted through JoberTrust's verification process. It is not a guarantee of service quality, honesty, or future conduct.

Does Tier 3 mean a professional is better than someone with Tier 1?

No. A higher tier means more information has been verified, not that the professional delivers better work. Consider verification alongside reviews, Trust Score and other available information.

Are government ID documents publicly displayed?

No. Documents submitted for verification are not published on the professional's public profile. The profile shows the verification tier reached, not the underlying documents.

Can a professional complete more than one verification tier?

Yes. The tiers represent progressively broader verification, and professionals complete the processes available and applicable to them. Tiers do not upgrade automatically.
