1. About JoberTrust
JoberTrust is a professional trust and reputation platform and public directory that allows users to discover, search for, evaluate, and review service professionals.
Depending on available platform features, JoberTrust may allow users to:
- Search for service professionals using names, phone numbers, professions, categories, specializations, services, and geographic locations.
- View professional profiles.
- View Trust Scores and reputation information.
- View verification statuses and badges.
- Read public customer reviews.
- Submit reviews and ratings.
- Submit supporting proof-of-work or proof-of-payment evidence.
- Claim, update, manage, and verify professional profiles.
- Access features relating to identity, business, or professional verification.
JoberTrust may contain profiles for professionals who have not personally registered with or created an account on the Platform.
The existence of a profile does not constitute an endorsement, approval, partnership, employment relationship, agency relationship, or representation between JoberTrust and the listed professional.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using JoberTrust, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
- You have the legal capacity required to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.
- Information you provide to JoberTrust is true, accurate, and current.
- You will not use JoberTrust for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or malicious purposes.
- You will comply with applicable laws and these Terms.
If you use JoberTrust on behalf of a company, business, partnership, or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Eligibility and Age Requirements
JoberTrust is intended for individuals aged 18 years and older or individuals who have otherwise reached the applicable age of contractual majority under the law governing their circumstances.
As a platform policy, individuals under 18 are prohibited from:
- Creating JoberTrust accounts
- Registering professional profiles
- Claiming professional profiles
- Submitting reviews
4. User Accounts and Security
Certain features require registration for a JoberTrust account.
4.1 Account Obligations
When creating an account, you agree to provide authentic information, which may include:
- Legal name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Location information
- Other information reasonably required for account security or verification
You must not:
- Register using a false identity
- Impersonate another individual or business
- Create accounts for fraudulent purposes
- Create multiple accounts to manipulate reviews or Trust Scores
- Share your account credentials with unauthorised persons
- Use another person's account without permission
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your login credentials and account.
You should notify JoberTrust promptly at support@jobertrust.com if you suspect unauthorised access, account compromise, or other security issues involving your account.
5. Professional Accounts and Profile Claiming
5.1 Professional Account Management
Service professionals may register for or claim an existing professional profile where the relevant feature is available.
Depending on platform functionality, professionals may be able to:
- Manage public contact information
- Update professional information
- Add services
- Add portfolio material
- Complete verification
- Respond to reviews
- Manage applicable profile information
5.2 Unclaimed Profiles
JoberTrust may create or maintain professional profiles based on publicly available information, business listings, user submissions, and other legitimate sources.
An unclaimed profile means that the professional has not completed the applicable JoberTrust profile-claiming process.
5.3 Profile Claim Verification
To claim an unclaimed profile, a professional may be required to provide verification information or documents, which may include:
- Government-issued identification
- National identification information
- Driver's licence
- Passport
- CAC registration documents
- Utility or business documents
- Professional licences
- Other reasonable verification evidence
JoberTrust may delay, reject, suspend, or request additional information for a profile claim where submitted evidence is incomplete, inconsistent, unreadable, inconclusive, or raises reasonable concerns regarding identity or ownership.
5.4 No Automatic Verification
Claiming a profile does not automatically grant a verification badge.
Verification is subject to the applicable JoberTrust verification requirements.
6. Reviews, Supporting Evidence, and Moderation
6.1 Honest Review Requirement
Users who submit reviews must provide genuine feedback based on a direct, first-hand service transaction, engagement, or experience with the professional being reviewed.
You must not knowingly submit false or misleading information.
6.2 Supporting Evidence
Users may voluntarily submit supporting evidence for consideration under the JoberTrust Checked Review process.
Examples include:
- Invoices
- Receipts
- POS receipts
- Bank transfer confirmations
- Project photographs
- Work orders
- Delivery notes
- Other relevant transaction or service evidence
Supporting evidence is processed privately and is not publicly displayed or provided to the reviewed professional as part of the ordinary review display.
6.3 JoberTrust Checked Reviews
JoberTrust Checked Reviews receive additional Trust Score weighting where the submitted supporting evidence has been reviewed and accepted through JoberTrust's checking process.
The Checked designation is an additional trust signal.
It does not mean JoberTrust guarantees:
- The truth of every statement contained in the review
- The quality of the service
- The safety of the professional
- The future conduct of the professional
- The complete circumstances of the transaction
JoberTrust's checking process evaluates supporting evidence submitted in connection with the review. It is not a guarantee of the underlying service or transaction.
6.4 Prohibited Review Practices
You must not:
- Submit fake reviews.
- Purchase or sell reviews.
- Submit incentivised reviews where prohibited by JoberTrust policy.
- Coordinate reviews to artificially manipulate a professional's reputation.
- Review your own business for the purpose of manipulating its reputation.
- Submit reviews intended to unfairly damage a competitor.
- Submit knowingly false or defamatory information.
- Threaten a professional with a negative review to obtain money, services, discounts, or other benefits.
- Submit forged, altered, stolen, or fraudulent evidence.
6.5 Fraudulent Evidence
Submitting forged, altered, stolen, or intentionally fraudulent supporting evidence is a serious violation of these Terms.
JoberTrust may suspend or terminate the relevant account, remove associated content, restrict platform access, preserve relevant records, and take other appropriate action, including referral to law-enforcement or other authorities where required or appropriate.
7. Moderation, Suspension, and Enforcement
JoberTrust may take reasonable action against content, accounts, or profiles that violate these Terms, applicable law, or applicable platform policies.
Depending on the circumstances, JoberTrust may:
- Reject content
- Remove or hide content
- Restrict content visibility
- Request clarification or supporting information
- Suspend an account
- Restrict platform functionality
- Terminate an account
- Remove profile-management privileges
- Apply abuse strikes
- Preserve relevant records
- Report suspected unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate
Where reasonably necessary, JoberTrust may take action without prior notice, particularly where immediate action is necessary to protect users, professionals, platform integrity, security, or legal compliance.
8. Fees, Payments, and Paid Features
JoberTrust may offer optional paid features in the future or where currently available.
These may include features such as:
- Premium profile visibility
- Promotional features
- Advanced verification services
- Other optional platform services
Applicable prices and payment terms will be disclosed before purchase.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.
Payment for a premium feature or verification service does not guarantee:
- Positive reviews
- Positive ratings
- A higher Trust Score
- Removal of negative reviews
- Immunity from future negative feedback
- A particular business outcome
Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law, expressly stated at the time of purchase, or approved by JoberTrust.
9. Intellectual Property Rights and User Content
9.1 JoberTrust Intellectual Property
JoberTrust retains its rights, title, and interest in the Platform, including applicable:
- Software
- Source code
- User-interface designs
- Database structures
- Algorithms
- Logos
- Branding
- Trademarks
- Trust Score systems
- Platform documentation
- Other proprietary materials
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, reproduce, scrape, redistribute, or commercially exploit JoberTrust proprietary materials without appropriate authorisation.
9.2 User Content
You retain ownership of original content you submit to JoberTrust, subject to the rights granted below.
By submitting content to JoberTrust, including reviews, photographs, service descriptions, and other media, you grant JoberTrust a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, index, moderate, analyse, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and promote the Platform.
This licence continues for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which the content was submitted, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
10. Scraping and Automated Data Access
You must not use crawlers, bots, spiders, automated scripts, scraping systems, or other automated methods to:
- Harvest personal data from JoberTrust.
- Extract phone numbers or contact information.
- Copy professional listings at scale.
- Republish JoberTrust's database or reviews.
- Circumvent rate limits.
- Circumvent security controls.
- Attempt to bypass access restrictions.
Unauthorised automated access may result in technical blocking, account restrictions, termination, and legal action where appropriate.
11. Disclaimers and Professional-Service Limitations
11.1 Platform Neutrality
JoberTrust is an information-sharing and reputation platform.
JoberTrust is not:
- An employer
- An agency
- A contractor
- A broker
- A partner of listed professionals
- A party to transactions between users and professionals
Any transaction or service agreement entered into between a user and professional is between those parties.
11.2 No Guarantee of Professional Services
JoberTrust does not guarantee that any professional:
- Is suitable for a particular job
- Will perform services satisfactorily
- Will comply with applicable laws
- Will honour an agreement
- Will remain trustworthy
- Will maintain the same reputation in the future
11.3 Trust Scores and Verification
Trust Scores, reviews, verification badges, and JoberTrust Checked Reviews are informational trust signals.
A verification badge indicates that specific verification criteria have been completed. It does not constitute a guarantee of the professional's competence, service quality, safety, legal compliance, or future conduct.
Users should conduct appropriate independent due diligence before entering into a transaction.
11.4 Platform Availability
The Platform is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
JoberTrust does not guarantee that the Platform will always be:
- Available
- Uninterrupted
- Error-free
- Completely accurate
- Free from vulnerabilities
- Free from all security threats
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights, obligations, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JoberTrust and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, agents, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Platform.
This may include losses relating to:
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Loss of contracts or business opportunities
- Loss of goodwill
- Transactions between users and professionals
- Services performed by professionals
- Third-party statements or reviews
- Platform interruptions
- Unauthorised access or alteration of data, except to the extent liability arises under applicable law
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability, rights, remedies, or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable data-protection obligations and statutory rights.
Subject to applicable law, JoberTrust's aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of:
NGN 50,000
or
the total fees paid by you to JoberTrust during the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this section prevents a court or competent authority from applying any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless JoberTrust, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your misuse of the Platform.
- Your submission of fraudulent or knowingly false content.
- Your submission of forged or fraudulent evidence.
- Your infringement of another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other legal rights.
- Your unlawful use of the Platform.
- Transactions or service agreements you enter into with professionals or users through or after discovering them on JoberTrust.
This provision does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss was caused by conduct for which JoberTrust is legally responsible.
14. Data Protection and Regulatory Compliance
JoberTrust processes personal data in accordance with applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable guidance issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
15.2 Informal Resolution
Before commencing formal proceedings, you and JoberTrust agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally.
You may contact support@jobertrust.com or legal@jobertrust.com.
We will make reasonable efforts to address the dispute in good faith.
15.3 Court Jurisdiction
Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to a competent court in Lagos State, Nigeria, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this section removes any mandatory jurisdiction, statutory remedy, or consumer/data-protection right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. General Provisions
16.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the extent necessary, without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.
16.2 No Waiver
A failure by JoberTrust to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it later.
16.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and applicable official JoberTrust policies, constitute the agreement governing your use of the Platform.
16.4 Changes to These Terms
JoberTrust may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, law, regulation, security practices, or business operations.
Where changes are material, JoberTrust may provide reasonable notice through the Platform or other appropriate means.
Your continued use of the Platform after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
